The road of a young Stephen Curry
Steph Curry is nothing short of a phenomenon. During his two MVP seasons, he has set and broken so many shooting records and elevated his game to a level very few other players have attained. It’s been said many times that Steph Curry sometimes even surpasses his video game character. But did you know about how small and humble his beginnings were?

Well, not so humble, since his dad was NBA guard, Dell Curry and a member of the Cavs when Steph was born in Akron, Ohio. The Currys then moved to Charlotte, NC, where Dell spent most of his NBA career playing for the Hornets. The final stop for Dell in his NBA career was Toronto.
Steph naturally grew up playing ball with his dad, and his brother, Seth. Steph learned to play well enough to get into varsity with the Queensway Christian College. In fact, he led the team to an undefeated season. Curry also joined Toronto 5-0, a Canadian club team that played in Ontario. His team managed a 33-4 record and the provincial title.
When the Currys returned to Charlotte, Steph played for Charlotte Christian School where he got all-conference and all-state honors. He spearheaded the team’s run towards three conference titles and three state playoff stints.
Curry wanted to play where his dad did – at Virginia Tech, but was only offered a walk-on spot because he was seen as small and frail. He ended up in Davidson College.
